Boston Red Sox New York Yankees Lineups: We’ve missed this

0

The Sox are within a game of .500! The Sox are within a game of .500! Let the streamers fall. Hug your loved ones. We made it, and it will all end tonight, for better or worse. Could be back tomorrow, though.

Anyhow it’s the Yankees this evening at 7:05, as The Rivalry begins anew behind Ryan Weber, so between that, Yankees starter Jordan Montgomery (?) and the zombie apocalypse it’s not exactly happiest or flashiest Hatfield/McCoy mixer, but it’ll play. At least we get on record for another year. Something about it seems very normal, especially on a night a fifth of the league is shut down due to COVID.

The Yankees lineup is as good as ever, with Aaron Judge batting second, Gleyber Torres third and Giancarlo Stanton batting third. Those may be bad examples because Boston’s 2-4 is arguably better, but the filler leans Yankees everywhere but behind the plate, became who’s better than league MVP Christian Vázquez? Mike Trout? Hardly.

Anyhow Andrew Benintendi finally sits against the lefty in ultimate favor of Alex Verdugo and that is notable and probably gonna be sustained. Good on Ron Roenicke. Here’s the rest of the damage:
